Shutter: A Review (and love letter)

shutterWhilst finishing up issue #3 of Wytches, by Scott Snyder, he mentions a few of his favorite creator-owned comics in the back of the issue, which I took note of and vowed to check out later, just like a good little Scott Snyder fangirl. Shutter has also gotten high praise from the Robert Kirkman. Kirkman has tweeted about it and has also said, according to Image’s website, “Shutter by Joe Keatinge and Leila Del Duca is so completely and utterly new that it reminds you of the potential of this medium.” This comic just reminds you that there are still so many fantastical and imaginative stories out there that have yet to be explored.

I have just finished Volume 1 – Wanderlust of Shutter, story by Joe Keatinge and art by Leila Del Duca – yet another stellar comic from Image. The main character’s name is Kate Kristopher, who was once a famous explorer of everything…
